Jennifer Aniston has spoken out to deny claims that she had an affair with Barack Obama, branding the tabloid rumor ‘absolutely untrue’.
The Friends actress, 55, was romantically linked to the married former president, 63, in a baseless story published just a few weeks ago. But, during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night, Jennifer finally set the record straight after the host presented her with the magazine.
Wagging her finger, the Hollywood A-lister said: ‘Of all the calls you get from your publicist where you’re just like ‘Oh, no, what’s it gonna be?’ or you get an email saying some cheesy tabloid is gonna make up a story—and then it’s that…’
‘I was not mad at it,’ she then added with a giggle, before clarifying that the story is ‘absolutely untrue’.
‘So, the truth about Jen and Barack is that there’s no truth?’ Jimmy confirmed.
Jennifer continued: ‘I’ve met him [Obama] once. I know Michelle more than him.’
Joking, Jimmy then asked: ‘Is there a truth about you and Michelle?’
‘That is not true,’ she said with a smile.
Jennifer is not known to be dating anyone currently, and has not been romantically linked to anyone for the past five years.
Meanwhile, Barack and Michelle have been married 32 years, and share daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 23.
Last year, Barack paid tribute to his ‘kind’ and ‘beautiful’ spouse in a gushing anniversary post in celebration of their 31st year together.
‘Happy anniversary, sweetheart,’ he captioned a post that showed him and Michelle, 60, standing together in front of a large, green field.
‘@MichelleObama, you’re brilliant, kind, funny, and beautiful – and I’m lucky to call you mine.’
Also marking the occasion, Michelle posted a loved-up snap of herself and her husband.
’31 years, and a lifetime ago,’ she captioned the sweet upload. ‘I love going through life with you by my side, @BarackObama. Happy anniversary, honey.’
Elsewhere during her appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Jennifer said she was left with ‘some sort of PTSD’ from having to belly dance in front of her family as a child.
‘You know, the Greeks love any kind of a family dinner, they would say, “Let’s get up and watch” – it’s like when you say to your child, “Play piano for everyone, let’s sing for everyone.”
‘I get such anxiety when my friends do that to their children.
‘I have inner trauma from having to perform and belly dance in front of my Greek aunts and uncles and grandmothers,’ she noted.
In 2016 the Morning Show actress told EW: ‘When I was a kid, they used to make me belly dance. On Christmas Eve.
‘My dad’s side of the family is Greek, so I would dress up as a little Greek girl, and then on Christmas, after taking belly-dancing classes, I would do that.’
And she did not think her family had good intentions, it was added.
‘It had nothing to do with Christmas, even,’ she said. ‘It was just, “Let’s humiliate Jen on Christmas”.’
