“Andy Reid’s Wife Weeps” as Gov. Parson commutes Sentence of Britt Reid, son of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid and Places Him under house Arrest Until October 2025.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson has commuted Britt Reid’s sentence.

He will now be under house arrest until October 2025.

Back in 2022, he was sentenced to three years in prison for a DWI case.

Reid is a former coach for the Kansas City Chiefs and head coach Andy Reid’s son.

He crashed into two vehicles and seriously injured a young girl near Arrowhead Stadium in February 2021.

Ariel Young suffered a traumatic brain injury.

“Mr. Reid has completed his alcohol abuse treatment program and has served more prison time than most individuals convicted of similar offenses,” Parson’s office said in a statement.

“Mr. Reid will be under house arrest until October 31, 2025, with strict conditions of probation, including weekly meetings with a parole officer, weekly behavioral counseling attendance, weekly meetings with a parole officer, weekly behavioral counseling attendance, weekly meetings with a peer support sponsor, and stringent community service and employment requirements.

A full list of the conditions of the commutation can be found in the attached letter.”

The conditions of the house arrest include:

employment of at least 30 hours per week
installation of an ignition interlock system in any vehicle he operates
random substance screenings
weekly meetings with a probation officer
attendance of behavioral counseling or support programs
meetings with a peer support sponsor
completion of at least 10 hours of community service per month
no contact with the victim or their family unless legally required
compliance with specified regulations

Online court records indicate Reid was released from prison at 11:03 a.m. on Friday morning.

Court records state that Reid’s blood alcohol level was recorded at 0.113, and he was traveling at 84 miles per hour just 1.9 seconds before the accident close to Arrowhead Stadium.

During sobriety tests, officers noted indications of impairment in Reid.

One officer observed a smell of alcohol emanating from Reid and noted bloodshot eyes.

Officials stated that Reid’s vehicle collided with a car that had stalled due to running out of gas at the junction of Interstate 435 and Stadium Drive, as well as an SUV carrying two children aged 4 and 5.
