Kirk Burrowes revealed Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs was ‘Jealous’ of Tupac and Biggie Before Their Deaths… Find out more
Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has a long history in the hip-hop industry, and those once close to him have been revealing some information on what things were really like behind the scenes.
Hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs was arrested in September 2024 on allegations including sex trafficking and racketeering. The “Coming Home” singer was previously sued by his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, back in 2023, which seemed to be the impetus to so much more information coming out about Diddy.
It turns out that Diddy had some jealousy issues back when his record label was up and coming, and a former friend of his said Diddy didn’t like the friendship that Biggie and Tupac Shakur had shortly before their deaths.
It’s not easy to make it in the rap and hip-hop world, and Diddy knew that. But when he launched Bad Boy Records back in 1993, he would stop at nothing to find success. Today, Combs sits in jail as he awaits trial on multiple charges, and those once close to him have spoken out about what might have led him to this fate.
“There was someone on the sidelines, jealous,” Kirk Burrowes, Diddy’s former partner at Bad Boy Records and the former president of the label, told Rolling Stone. At the time, Biggie was signed to Bad Boy Records, and Diddy had tried to befriend Tupac, but Tupac didn’t take well to him. This meant that Biggie’s budding friendship with Tupac bothered Diddy.
But that friendship soon turned to rivalry; in 1994, Shakur was shot but survived, and he blamed it on Diddy and Bad Boy Records; it meant that he and Biggie were no longer friends. Still, Biggie was reportedly trying to leave Bad Boy Records shortly before his death.
